DYNALIFE

SECOND PERIOD

Dear members of the Work Groups of CA21169, DYNALIFE,

I am delighted to announce that the Grant Agreement for the second period of DYNALIFE (1 November 2023 - 31 October 2024) has been now signed, marking the official commencement of activities for the present period. This year, thanks to the larger total budget, we are pleased to inform you that, in addition to supporting STSMs, ITC, and Dissemination Conferences, we are now able to fund five major events, a substantial increase over the two similar activities held during the previous Grant Period. All these five events are of paramount importance for the development of the Action and timed strategically to maximize their impact. The chronological list is as follows:

1) Thematic Workshop, "Nonlinear Dynamics of the Biological Information Flow (NODBIF)"

  • Format: Face-to-face, co-located with NOMA2024

  • Date: 18 to 19 January 2024

  • Location: Porto, Portugal

  • Local Organizer: Clara Gracio

2) DYNALIFE WG4 Meeting (Dissemination) and Core Group Meeting

  • Format: Hybrid

  • Date: 25 to 26 January 2024

  • Location: Prague, Czech Republic

  • Local Organizer: Jitka Cejkova

3) Thematic Workshop "Dynamics of Coding Matter and the Origin of Life”

  • Format: Face-to-face

  • Date: 14 to 15 March 2024

  • Location: Mallorca, Spain

  • Local Organizer: Oreste Piro

4) Training School, "The Riddle of the Genetic Code”

  • Format: Face-to-face

  • Date: 30 April to 2 May 2024

  • Location: Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany

  • Local Organizers: Elena Fimmel and Lutz Strungmann

5) WG2 Meeting "Testing and Integration of Theoretical Models," Core Group Meeting, and Management Meeting

  • Format: Face-to-face

  • Date: 10 to 12 June

  • Location: Thesaloniki, Greece

  • Local Organizer: Andigoni Malousi

As in previous instances, the number of fully reimbursed participants will be limited. Depending on the number of applications for any event, constraints may be applied in deciding on full support. In such cases, the primary consideration will be given to the presentation of a paper aligned with the aims and objectives of the Action, and with the thematic focus of the events.

Due to the tight timelines for the first two events (Porto and Prague meetings in mid to late January 2024), we recommend that members interested in participating begin preparing their applications promptly. Detailed information about the events, as well as application templates, will be provided as soon as possible through our website. Calls for STSMs and ITC Conferences will also be announced promptly on the website. The call for Dissemination Conferences will be postponed until the definition of new rules for application.

Wishing you all a fruitful period of activity, I extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you for your valuable contributions to the success of DYNALIFE.

With all my best regards,

Diego L. Gonzalez
